YOGA DANCE BY DESSY
THE PROJECT
Inspired in my last journey in Asia, the project starts with the idea of combining two things I most enjoy to do in life: Yoga and Dance. Yoga will PREPARE BODY AND MIND and dance FREELY will give you THE FLOW to improvise beautiful movements which will lead to the liberation of the soul and improvisation in life.

A BIT ABOUT ME
I start taking dance classes since I was a kid -from Hawaiian to Belly dance- played many sports -from swimming to gymnastics and tae kwon do-.
When I discover yoga, I saw exercising in a different manner because I was including my mind and breathing apart from strength to accomplish the movements. I wanted to deepen my practice and I went to India to take a 200 hrs. Yoga teachers training.
I studied dance in a very prestigious Arts School in Mexico -from ballet to african- and I found contemporary dance a way to express my feelings in the very present moment.
I made the improvisation part of my life and now is the style that characterizes me and the one I want to share. "I think is a feeling of freedom that can help many people to free their mind and know their body."

YOGA/DANCE
We start with a yoga session to calm our mind, learn how to be present, activate our energy and prepare all our joints and muscles to be ready for a session of dance improvisation/liberation. Don´t worry if you think you don´t know how to dance, here we will learn how to express our body and feel a sensation of freedom after the class.

ASHTANGA AND VINYASA YOGA FLOW
These are classical yoga classes. We start with Pranayama which are breathing techniques to calm our mind and make the energy flow trough our body, follow with Asanas or postures and finish with a Meditation. After the class you will have a sensation of re-set to continue your day full of positive energy .

CONTEMPORARY DANCE FOR ADULTS
We will focus in many excersises to develop the awareness of our body to move it with the flow and dynamism from soft to animalistic movements. We will try to feel our senses and start from here.

CONTEMPORARY DANCE FOR KIDS
The aim is that kids learn to express themselves by realizing what is happening in the present moment knowing how is their body capable of doing having a lot of fun.
I felt really comfortable taking a class with Dessy. She adjust to my needs and limits and now I can see a real progression in my body. She is an inspiration to take prejudices out of my mind and express while dancing.
